Within consultancy the concept of leverage is where a small amount of personal effort in the form of direction, can be turned into a large amount of team effort when other individuals are used as levers to magnify the output.

As a consultant, you can be external or internal. Whether you are an external consultant bringing technical expertise, or internal bringing company knowledge, you still aim to deliver independent advice for the benefit of your client.

At different times and in different environments, the same consultant needs to perform different roles for the good of their client.

A consultant is an individual who adapts to perform multiple roles, using their knowledge and skills to influence or deliver beneficial change on behalf of a client.
